WOW! If I knew I would have a so amazing weekend pre-work, I would have wished to have come back sooner! Yesterday I planned a surprise romantic dinner to Jan! Great menu with filet mignon, risotto, salad, dessert, wines… I decorated the table and bought a lot of things we didn’t have and flowers. I wore a nice black dress, high heels, make up, straight hair… we had a LOT of fun… Oh, I almost forgot to mention the candles… of course, I forgot that it takes long to get dark nowadays, so when he arrived it was too clear for candles… but after one hour it was perfect! I burned a CD with nice songs… it was amazing. I can’t remember the last time I did something like that for him.. but for sure was more than 4 years ago.. He loved it! more…

After looking three places I believe we found the one we want to live in. It is so beautiful, fancy, modern, big aparments, of course expensive.. I mean less expensive from one for the same size in downtown Philly, but more than double of what we pay today in Durham. The name of the city is Conshohocken, and it is exactly in the middle to my work and center city (20 min each way). We are in love with that one and the best thing is that if we decide to live there they can hold one for June!!! Great! more…
I slept much better this night in the train. I was so tired of 2 days at Universal / Adventure Island and sleeping less than 6 hours per night, that was not hard to find a position, cover my eyes and sleep. Of course I wake up with pain in the neck, legs etc.
The balance was so positive that we didn’t regret our decision to go. Being with such great friends, enjoying Orlando was great! and we learned that train can be a good and cheap way to travel around! more…
… or I need to say we almost are going!
I know, I know I haven’t talk about Disney here and now suddenly I say that… well, life is unpredictable, and there is nothing more amazing than that! One of Jan’s best friend will arrive in Orlando tomorrow and stay for one week… since it is my spring break and we have NO plans to go to Brazil in the next months, we though that would be amazing to spend 2 days with them at Disney! more…
I had the day of my dreams.. calm, happy, with my husband and a lot of calls and wall posts on my facebook! I woke up and went to the kitchen where I found flowers, an awesome pursue and a beautiful card from my husband. He made me cry again… last year I cried as well! Great start!
Then I went to my mentored study and they prepared and decorated my room, and I had a great present waiting for me: a huge red cooler! Of course it is a promotional product with their logo, but it was really thoughtful considering I am there for less than one month. I worked just a little bit, since I received calls and I answered a lot of facebook messages.. They took me to have lunch and it was a lot of fun. They are such a great group and I really love the company friendly and casual environment. more…
It is so good to be home… we arrived yesterday at 8:20 pm or 20:20 in “Brazilian” way… the chaos started at the airport and was easy to realize we were here again!
Yesterday was about family, and a couple of friends that picked us up in the airport. more…
Morning spent at home, getting ready to the big moment. I did some “brigadeiros” to share a piece of Brazilian culture.
Everything went really well. They loved the presentation, the recommendations. They clapped at the end and told me nice things such as how good was to work with me, that they will miss me etc. It was a awesome feeling of accomplishment. Looking back 3 months ago, I was so nervous, especially with the language barrier. But today I had the proof that knowledge and business skills are more important than how good and perfect my English is. more…
I can’t believe I finished my presentation… I sent that to finally be printed. I will distribute some booklets to my team and the brand team with a collection of information about my project and the main consumer I researched during my summer. more…
And no work! Ok, I worked for 1 hour in the morning, but then I took the day for personal things. I woke up the first time 7h30 (without alarm clock)… nervous or not? With a strong headache I took a Brazilian medicine (neosaldina) that I knew would help me. And when I woke up one hour later I was right: no headache. more…
… In Cincinnati. Or cab be the last one this summer. It is so hard to try to understand what is going to happen.
We went to the outlet to buy some things my family asked me. And now we are driving back home from a sushi dinner.
We tried to go to the movie but the parking lot was completely full. The reason: mall to close to the baseball stadium. And today was happening an important game that of course we didn’t know about. The stadium was full and the movie theater empty.
We are now in the riverfront dr, a place I would love to live but of course may be really expensive.
I am excited to my final presentation! I can’t wait to be done!
