My Monday was productive, not in the business sense of the world, since today was holiday! But I was finally able to find the dress I am going to wear at my sister’s weeding. Besides my size I think the dress fitted well, it is red and I found a cute shoes to complement my outfit! I can’t believe I was able to find it… it was easier than I thought! My mother-in-law in US helping me with the dresses, and my mom in Brazil receiving pics for every dress I tried! The one I bought was a consensus! more…

Tourism day in Cincinnati, after an awesome Germany victory against Argentina! Brazilians are against Argentina in soccer… always… so it was really nice to see Argentina going home, especially after Brazil losing the game yesterday. What a kind of day! I had a business environment dream… to meet a “big” woman in my company.. she is the second name after the CEO, she is smart and she is Brazilian.. My mom sent me an article about her in a Brazilian magazine after I got my offer, and I read and started to admire this woman… she is not 100% Brazilian, the name is English, but she grow up there… almost like my husband, her heart is Brazilian. more…

We woke up late to go to the Zoo, but we made it on time! It was Santiago 2nd Birthday… our favorite kid! We decided to spend the morning looking his smiley face! The Zoo is beautiful, in the middle of the city, well organized. I am writing in the car. We went to Indiana, a city called Lawrenceburg. No, the city was not the attraction, but the Casino located there was. Hollywood Casino! Huge. By far the biggest Casino we know. Tons of people and the building has an European architecture. The parking lot is giant. We lost money today, not a big amount. We went with a “stop loss” planned. Great day, awesome evening! Today was my first presentation to the Brand Team. I was nervous, sweating… more than final presentation with Mark Brown… much more… I knew everything I had to talk, but I was woried about how I would handle questions etc. At the end I did well. When I came back to my desk I received 2 messages saying I did a great job! I keep thinking, I am not bad in deliveries and analysis… and I am getting pretty good in the well know “politics”. more…

Great Sunday today… full of new things and people. We spent almost all day long outside home enjoying a sunny day, and more important, a World Cup Game day! Brazil 3 x 1 Côte d’Ivoire. Great game, full of emotion. We went to a Brazilian barbecue with people we didn’t know. I need to say that the feeling of arriving for the first time in a place where everybody knows each other, and nobody knows who you are or why you are there, is kind of weird. But after 15 min I started to feel better. All the couples there have kids and three women are divorced (with kids). I am not the youngest, but for sure I am different. One I work. Two I don’t have kids. But I managed everything well… they are really nice people. more…
