It weird how some days we feel as we haven’t done anything important or productive. Today I felt exactly like that! At work I did some analysis, I advanced with my research, I connected with some people, I wrote the woman I met yesterday (and by the way, she asked her secretary to schedule an appoitment with me), I had a great dinner with my mentor, I ate not so badly (ok, one mini cupcake) and I cleaned a little bit my home. more…

I need to tell always the truth… and here it is: I love games. Any kind of game. Especially the cards ones… I am not good in sports, but with cards… oh, I could spend all day playing! So, I have an aunt that introduced me to this www.megajogos.com.br, a website that is only about games! They give you 20hrs free, and after that you need to pay… and of course you pay, if you spent 20 hrs of your life playing cards online, it is likely you are going to pay. I am that kind of person… No, I didn’t spend my 20 hrs yet, and no I am not going to pay… but because I know myself, and think it is better to not have access to this website! But I am enjoying my 20 hrs hehehee more…

Normal day, but a productive one. I feel I am getting used to work and being better in the daily activities. Today actually for the first time I really felt myself… making people laughing with me! Love it! I am closer to other people that seat close to me… I like the feeling of fitting in an organization… the only weird thing is that all the time I will say something about this company, I call it “Telefonica”… the company I worked for 5 years in Brazil before coming here. Maybe it is a kind of trauma… hahahaha

Night was good. I made a delicious and refreshing shrimp salad… Today as my chocolate day I had a Hersheys bar (the small and thin one).

Ah, I received my sister’s wedding invitation! So nice… I can’t wait to see my family!!!

I am getting without creativity to write here. My days have been pretty normal… work, meetings, questions, doubts, ideas, new people, walkinh home, cooking with my husband, talking with some friend, watching TV… and some times exercises. But not today.

I took my migraine pill and turned my hot pillow on and slept like a baby. I woke up 100% migraine free. So great. I can be much more productive and attentive – 2 really important characteristics for my summer.

And basically that is it.

PS: 1,600 calories + no gym = 1,600 calories

Happy Birthday for my friend Sarah, one of the loyal readers of my blog! I wanted to celebrate with you… but you know I thought about you during the day! It was a girlfriend day… I went to the movies with some interns like me to watch Sex and the City 2. It was a good movie, the first one was better, but I laughed a lot… and it is always good to see the clothes and the places they go! more…

As I had previewed I spent my Sunday studying. First I studied for product management. I read a case and met some friends to discuss our understanding. It was awesome and really important. It is so nice to see how each person can add different knowledge of the same case, because everyone focused more in one kind of analysis. The only bad thing about that meeting was that we had scheduled to meet at Mad Hatters, a nice and cozy restaurant in downtown Durham, but it closes at 4pm on Sundays… exactly our meeting time… more…

After 4 hours of profound sleep, my alarm cloked rang loudly, bringing me back to real life. I didn’t have time to enjoy my relaxing moment, and there I was again – at school – 7h15 in the morning, practicing my presentation. Normally I don;t have any problems wih presenting, but today I was really nervous. I don’t know exactly why, but I am well convinced that it is because I was not so confident with our solutions. I need to believe and understand pretty well what I am talking about, especially in a second language, to be able to transmit knowledge. more…

What a lazy today! I didn’t do anything to school, and I really mean that. I woke up and cleaned my home to receive a prospective student. He just stayed for 10 min, what was good since I was still tired. And the rest of the day was about watching Winter Olympics and take naps.

Of course I found 35 min to go to the gym and try my new watch. It is incredible, awesome. It gives the weekly program to lose weight and the number of calories burned is much more accurate than the machine one, because the watch uses my heart rate, age, height and actual weight. I can’t lie that I got surprised my first week program – 4:50 of exercises = 2,200 calories. In my previous plan to go to the gym 3 times a week, I would reach at most 2 hours of exercises. That means I need to go almost every day to complete my weekly program! more…
