My day started at 11h30am… I was mentally tired, thinking in so many and at the same time different things, that I believe my mind asked a break! It knows that while I am awake my mind doesn’t stop working for one minute… My day was short… I mean, with daylight, because now the night is a child (as we say in Brazil).
My husband and I went to Raleigh mall in the end of the day. Just to give an idea for you: the mall is 30 min driving from our home, and now for us it is REALLY far… my father spent 2 hours today to drive a small distance in São Paulo – Brazil. I said to my husband: “I don’t want to come back… I will just go to visit my family and friends”. Now I give the real value to quality of life. I love the calm and easy way of our life now… and I don’t mean that it is not busy, but it is not stressful in the way a huge city as São Paulo is.
Family and friends in Brazil don’t be mad or sad with me! I promise to come back to visit you all… but I also promise to work hard to have a nice “American Dream” home to receive all of you here!!!
Coming back to the mall episode! I went there to try to find some clothes… I bought 2 blouses and 1 skirt. I don’t like what I see, and I don’t want to spend money in this kind of clothes… I think that I just need 2 sandals and I have all outfits I need for 6 parties in 4 days! Oh my god!!!
Ah, we ate at P.F. Chang, our favorite Chinese restaurant. The way we discovered this restaurant is fun… we were in Chicago (January/2009); tired from walking in the cold (extremely cold) weather, we decided to stop and have something to eat. We didn’t know where to go, so I started looking around and I saw this restaurant in a corner. It was packed. Lots of people. So I thought if it is full, it must be good! We ate a lot, and loved the “Lettuce Chicken Wrap”. Of course we hadn’t had any idea how famous this restaurant is… actually, we even saw the name…
One day already living here in Durham, we went to P.F. Chang with my mother-in-law. And we asked the Lettuce Chicken Wraps again… and we realized that this was the restaurant we loved in Chicago! Now, it is a place we go often… but…
Today for the first time I didn’t eat my favorite entree… before going there I looked for the calories this special Chicken Krispy Honey has and I got really upset: 1,000 calories (6 oz). It is almost the amount of calories I can have all day long! Again, I could realize how easy it is to eat a lot of calories without noticing!!
PS: 1,361 calories + 30 min elliptical and 15 min treadmill (301 calories) = 1,060 calories
