Today is Monday! The worldwide day to begin a new diet. And it is not any Monday, is the first of 2010, what makes today more diet focused.  But for me is not any diet… is the beginning of my real diet challenge!

I started my day thinking about gym and salad, and finished the day watching The Bachelor. What the hell? 25 skinny and perfect women disputing the love of a guy? After watching that I couldn’t be more depressed about my body. It looks like that only beautiful and skinny women can be loved… the good thing is: I am married! So, I am not doing that challenge to find a love, but for sure it will help me to keep mine! :)

Coming back to my plan: my effort is eat 1,200 calories per day and go to the gym at least 3 days a week. I decided to not put an impossible goal, like gym every day, because after one week, when my classes started again I will not accomplish it. One of the things I realized is the importance of having possible objectives, otherwise is easier to give up.

How to follow the calories? I am using a spreadsheet that has points to each kind of food (link). I can follow everything I eat and know how many points I still have to grab a banana before going bed!

And what about chocolate? I am completely crazy about chocolate, so I decided to stipulate one day per month that I can have a lot of chocolate! It will be every 14th of the month! Why? I need to eat chocolate in my sister’s weeding! I know it looks like crazy and impossible, but really works for me! I already did something like that twice in my life!

Gym? Of course start tomorrow and will be based on elliptical machines, walking and some weight.

Let’s go!!! Now is time to my delicious chicken and salad!
